As of today, the 1st of June 2015, another term has kicked off for the Kunsill Studenti Universitarji, having a new executive team on board. As of last April’s KSU election result, the new team was elected via the Studenti Demokristjani Maltin (SDM). Following these elections, the Education and Social Policy Commissioners were elected via the KE and KPS structures within KSU by the student representatives and student organisations respectively. This year’s team will be lead by President Rebecca Micallef, a fourth year law student.
This years energetic team offers experience from individuals who pursue different courses at the University of Malta and whose background in student representation is varied. This year, the KSU administration team is made of up President Rebecca Micallef, Vice President Andrew Borg Wirth, Secretary General Andrew Muscat, Financial Officer Philip Mizzi and Public Relations Officer Daniel Vella. Social Policy Coordinator Emma Portelli Bonnici and Education Coordinator Ryan Falzon will be joined by the commissioners Robert Napier and Matthew Bonello respectively. The KSU Culture & Entertainment office will be managed by Culture & Entertainment Officer, Gilbert Amato Gauci and Culture & Entertainment Coordinator , Stephanie Dalli. Meanwhile, the work of the KSU International Office will be coordinated by International Officer, Mark Trapani and International Coordinator, Rebecca Dalli.
Whilst thanking the previous executive for their exceptional work during the past year, the new executive board is eager to start working for another great year of student representation at the University of Malta. The new executive is eager to collaborate with other entities and bodies and therefore invites any interested parties to get in touch. Being the highest element of student representation on the island, KSU feels a great responsibility to represent students in National fora and to be included in the discussion of current issues, particularly those having an effect on students.
