Etienne Buttigieg is a 21-year-old ICT student, reading for a degree in Computing and Business. As a student, he has always been active on campus and has served as President of the ICT Students’ Association for two terms and as Events Coordinator prior to that during his fresher year. His main goal was to bridge the gap between students, the Faculty and the industry through academic initiatives such as programming competitions, business startup competitions, industry insiders and expos which have helped students achieve their aspirations; their social calendar was also taken care of with events which saw record attendance during his tenure.
Etienne believes in the concept of ‘wisdom of crowds’ - that the student body has a lot of collective potential and as Social Policy Coordinator he strives to ensure that students’ ideas and opinions are listened to and that action is taken. His desire is to push forward an innovative agenda centred around the student body, to ensure bright student career prospects by promoting areas such as ICT skills, facilitate debate between student organisations and embrace cultural diversity whilst building on the good work that has been done by KSU over the past years.
Apart from student activism, Etienne has a passion for entrepreneurship and is also keen on public speaking, football and technology.
