The much-anticipated KSU Students’ Fest is set to return with a fresh and exciting production, bringing together over 160 students for a high-energy spectacle. This year’s show, titled Xrekk, reimagines the beloved fairy-tale world of Shrek with a uniquely Maltese twist. The festival will run for three nights, from April 25th to 27th, at Sir Temi Zammit Hall.
Audiences can expect a dazzling mix of comedy, live music, captivating performances, dynamic choreography, and powerful singing, making it a must-watch event for all.
A Sneak Peek at Xrekk
To build excitement for the upcoming production, KSU hosted Xrekk on Quad on March 20th, a lively pre-show event featuring highlights from previous Students’ Fest productions, a preview of this year’s performance, and an engaging trivia quiz. One of the standout moments was a vibrant rendition of Walking on Sunshine, giving students a taste of the energy and creativity they can expect from Xrekk.
A Legacy of Unforgettable Performances
Over the years, KSU Students’ Fest has brought to life some truly unforgettable productions. From Hairspray, with its electrifying story of overnight fame, to the Maltese adaptation of Mean Girls in Min Hi Girls, and the whimsical Alice in Bormla, each edition has left audiences spellbound. Last year’s Toy Storey added a nostalgic touch, bringing cherished childhood toys to life on stage.
